A team of volunteers from our Kirkcaldy head office recently carried out a litter pick along the town’s seafront.
The enthusiastic group spent a sunny afternoon clearing up the beach, paths and seating areas around the Seafield section of the well known and spectacular Fife Coastal Path.
Tackling litter is not just about one afternoon; it is about sustained action to tackle waste and change behaviour over time. The volunteers hope that taking part in the clean-up will help encourage other Fife businesses to organise their own litter picks.
Managing Director, Dick Paterson, commented, “We all have a responsibility to keep our surroundings clean and tidy. A litter pick such as this one is a positive way that people can make a difference to the environment and encourage a positive change in peoples behaviours.”
Astrak’s cheery volunteers managed to clear the shores of several bags of rubbish which mainly consisted of plastic packaging, drink cans and discarded food wrappers.
