Cookie Policy
This policy explains how astrak.com uses cookies and similar technologies, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how you can control them.
It applies to astrak.com and every regional storefront we operate: the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
It should be read alongside our Privacy Statement.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Astrak Group Ltd, Wheatfield Road, Dunnikier Business Park, Kirkcaldy, Fife KY1 3PD, United Kingdom (registered in Scotland, company number SC468615).
Astrak Group Ltd is established in the European Union through the following subsidiaries, which act as the selling entity for customers in their territories:
| Entity | Country |
|---|---|
| Astrak France | France |
| Astrak Deutschland GmbH | Germany |
| Astrak Austria GmbH | Austria |
| Astrak Denmark A/S | Denmark |
| Astrak Sverige AB | Sweden |
Because we are established in the European Union, we are not required to appoint a representative under Article 27 of the EU GDPR.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences — items in your basket, your chosen country and language, whether you are signed in — so you don't have to re-enter them on every page.
We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage. Where this policy says “cookies”, it covers those too.
Cookies set by astrak.com are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by another organisation whose content or service appears on our site are called third-party cookies.
3. Your choices
When you first visit astrak.com from the UK, the EEA or another region where consent is required, you will see a cookie banner. You can:
- Accept all — allow every category below
- Reject all — allow only strictly necessary cookies
- Manage preferences — choose category by category
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off, because the site cannot work without them. Everything else is off until you turn it on.
Changing your mind. You can reopen the banner and change your choices at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. Your choice is stored in the _tracking_consent cookie for 12 months, after which we will ask again.
Browser controls. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the basket and checkout working.

5. Third parties
Klaviyo — our email marketing platform. Klaviyo's cookie stays anonymous until you either click through to our site from one of our emails, or submit your email address on one of our forms. From that point it lets us understand which products you have looked at so our emails are relevant rather than generic. You can unsubscribe from any email, which stops this. Klaviyo privacy policy
Google Analytics 4 — tells us which pages and products people look at, which parts-finder searches succeed and which come up empty, and which machines customers are looking for that we don't yet stock. We use it in aggregate to improve the site. It runs only if you accept analytics cookies; if you decline, Google Analytics receives no cookies and no identifiers from your visit. Google privacy policy · How Google uses data from sites that use its services
Google Search Console — we use this to see how our pages perform in Google's search results. It works from anonymous, aggregated search data supplied by Google and sets no cookies on this site.
Google reCAPTCHA — protects our forms from automated abuse. It is part of the Shopify platform and cannot be disabled without leaving the site open to spam. Google privacy policy
WhatsApp — where we offer a WhatsApp chat option, selecting it opens a conversation in the WhatsApp app or website. No WhatsApp cookies are set on astrak.com. Anything you send is handled by WhatsApp under their privacy policy.
YouTube — where we embed product or installation videos, YouTube may set cookies when you play one. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which means no cookies are set until you press play. Google privacy policy
Payment providers — at checkout, your payment is handled by our payment providers, who set their own cookies to process the transaction securely and detect fraud. These are strictly necessary to take payment.
6. What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you for other companies, and we do not share cookie data with third parties for their own independent marketing.
If you are a resident of California or another US state with equivalent rights, you can exercise your right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and of targeted advertising, using the Cookie preferences link in our footer or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser. We honour that signal automatically.
7. Changes to this policy
We review this policy whenever we add or remove a tool that uses cookies, and at least once a year. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Material changes will be brought to your attention through the cookie banner.
