DuraTrack dozer undercarriage comprises sealed and lubricated (SALT) track chains, track groups, single grouser shoes, sprocket segments, rollers, idlers, track adjusters and hardware, manufactured in OEM production facilities to rigorous OEM standards. Every component is tested and inspected to ensure correct fitment, durability and consistent quality.
The range covers all major makes and models of crawler dozer and tracked loader, including CAT, Komatsu and Liebherr. Parts are supplied individually, as half kits and full kits, or as a complete undercarriage assembled in our own workshops.

Three or five tooth sectionsForged and through hardened for extended wear life, with tooth profiles induction hardened to over 50RC. Segments are replaced individually without removing the track.

Proprietary undercarriage systems such as Cat SystemOne and Komatsu PLUS can be expensive to maintain compared to a DuraTrack SALT undercarriage. A DuraTrack conversion kit moves the machine onto the industry-standard SALT configuration, so every future replacement part comes from stock.
The kit contains every part needed for the conversion, with comprehensive step-by-step instructions for customers carrying out the work themselves. Alternatively, Astrak fits the kit on site or in the workshop.

Dozer Undercarriage Wear and Inspection
Dozer undercarriage wears as one system. A worn sprocket segment shortens the life of a new chain, and one new roller among worn ones wears faster than the set it replaced. Four measurements determine most replacements: chain stretch, rail height, grouser height, and roller and idler tread wear.
- Chain stretch. Measured across four or five pin centres against the new specification. On a 50 link chain, 1mm of pin wear plus 1mm of bush wear adds around 100mm to the overall length.
- Sprocket segments. Compared against an unused segment of the same type. Sharp or hooked teeth let the chain jump, which shock loads the final drive. Wear increases in reverse and in higher gears.
- Rollers. Change all bottom rollers together. One new roller among worn ones stands proud and carries more than its share of the load.
- Shoe width. Use the narrowest shoe that still gives adequate flotation. Excess width accelerates bush, sprocket, link and roller wear and loosens hardware.
Application sets where the wear falls. Dozing and push loading load the front of the undercarriage, ripping and drawbar work load the rear, and side hill work loads the downhill side. Avoid track slip, unnecessary reversing, non-productive high speed travel and always turning in one direction.
