DuraTrack Undercarriage
Excavator Carrier Rollers & Top Rollers
Heavy-duty carrier rollers are designed to guide the track over the undercarriage frame, ensuring optimal performance across a wide range of applications. Reinforced flanges and heavy-duty sealing systems help extend wear life and support long-term reliability.
Carrier rollers, also called top rollers, sit on top of the track frame and support the track on its return run, keeping it aligned as it travels back to the idler.

How to Identify a Carrier Roller
The machine identifies the roller. Send what you can and we confirm the rest against our product reference guide before quoting.
| What to send | Where to find it | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Machine make, model and serial number | The manufacturer's data plate on the machine. | Carrier rollers are listed by machine model, and variants within a model can take a different roller. |
| OEM part number, if you have it | The parts book, or the markings on the side of the old roller. | Many carrier rollers are also cataloged under the OEM number, so it confirms the match directly. |
| Number of carrier rollers on each side | Count them along the top of the track frame. | Confirms the undercarriage layout and how many rollers to order. |
| Single or double flange, and track shoe width | Look at the old roller; measure the shoe width in millimeters. | A double flange roller gives more guidance to the track link, and the shoe width confirms the undercarriage the roller runs in. |

Select your make above to see every carrier roller we list for it by model, or send the details to our undercarriage team and we will identify it for you.
What Wears a Carrier Roller Out
Carrier roller wear shows on the tread and the flanges, where the track links run over it. Three things speed it up.
- Wide track shoes: they increase link, roller and idler tread and flange wear. Use the narrowest shoe that still gives good flotation.
- Packing: material that sticks to the rollers and packs between them and the links stops the parts engaging correctly and increases wear. Keep the undercarriage clean.
- Incorrect track tension: a track that is too tight or too slack wears every mating component, the carrier rollers included.
Carrier rollers are best checked at the same time as the bottom rollers. Measure the top rollers and bottom rollers against new dimensions before anything is quoted, so they are changed alongside the chain, idlers and sprockets that need it. Our team will tell you what to measure.

Change the Carrier Rollers, Check the Rest
Three things worth looking at at the same time as the carrier rollers.
Bottom Rollers
Bottom rollers, also called track rollers, carry the machine's weight along the underside of the frame. Change them as a set: a single new roller sits proud of the worn ones and increases the wear rate on everything around it.
Track rollers
Idlers
The idler guides the track links at the front of the frame and wears on the same tread and flanges. Check it while the carrier rollers are being changed.
Idlers
Measure First
Measure every undercarriage component against new dimensions before you buy, so the carrier rollers are changed once, with the parts around them, rather than twice. Our team will tell you what to measure.
