DuraTrack bottom track roller, double flange with mounting brackets

DuraTrack Undercarriage

Excavator Track Rollers & Bottom Rollers

A complete range of bottom rollers is available, compatible with all tracked machinery. The rollers are engineered to effectively transfer machine weight through the undercarriage and tracks to the ground, minimizing operational forces and supporting optimal performance across a wide range of applications.

Track rollers, also called bottom rollers, sit along the underside of the track frame, between the frame and the part of the track on the ground. Reinforced flanges and heavy-duty seals increase their reliability.

  • Single flange and double flange track rollers
  • Listed by machine make and model, for more than 100 machine makes
  • Manufactured to OEM specification in ISO 9001 approved facilities
  • Held in US stock, same-day shipping on a 4:00pm CT cut-off
Shipping & Warranty
Order by 4:00pm CT and stocked track rollers ship the same day. All DuraTrack components come with a minimum 12-month warranty as standard; we confirm the term for your rollers when we quote.
Track roller or bottom roller?
The same part. Parts books and suppliers call it the track roller or the bottom roller. Whichever name is on the parts list, the make, model and serial number identify it.

How to Identify a Track Roller

The machine identifies the roller. Send what you can and we confirm the rest against our product reference guide before quoting.

What to sendWhere to find itWhy it matters
Machine make, model and serial numberThe manufacturer's data plate on the machine.Track rollers are listed by machine model, and variants within a model can take a different roller.
OEM part number, if you have itThe parts book, or the markings on the side of the old roller. The OEM number confirms the match directly.
Number of track rollers on each sideCount them along the bottom of the track frame.Confirms the undercarriage layout and how many rollers to order, since they are changed as a set.
Single or double flange, and track shoe widthLook at the old rollers; measure the shoe width in millimeters.A double flange roller gives more guidance to the track link, and dozers normally run a mixture of the two. The shoe width confirms the undercarriage the rollers run in.

What Wears a Track Roller Out

Track roller wear shows on the tread and the flanges, where the track links run over it. Four things speed it up.

  • Wide track shoes: they increase link, roller and idler tread and flange wear. Use the narrowest shoe that still gives good flotation.
  • Packing: material that sticks to the rollers and packs between them and the links stops the parts engaging correctly and increases wear. Keep the undercarriage clean.
  • Incorrect track tension: a track that is too tight or too slack wears every mating component, the track rollers included.
  • One new roller among worn ones: it sits proud of the others and increases the wear rate. Change the bottom rollers as a set.

Worn track rollers are also one of the causes of a chain jumping on the sprocket, and track guards help. If the link pin bosses show side wear before the links are fully worn, the rollers want replacing.

Track rollers are best checked at the same time as the carrier rollers. Measure the bottom rollers and top rollers against new dimensions before anything is quoted, so they are changed alongside the chain, idlers and sprockets that need it. Our team will tell you what to measure.

Change the Track Rollers, Check the Rest

Three things worth looking at at the same time as the track rollers.

DuraTrack carrier roller

Carrier Rollers

Carrier rollers, also called top rollers, sit on top of the frame and wear on the same tread and flanges. Check them while the track rollers are being changed.

Carrier rollers
DuraTrack excavator track chain

Track Chains

The links run on the roller treads, so link rail wear and roller wear go together. Check the chain at the same time.

Track chains
DuraTrack front idler assembly

Idlers

The idler guides the track links at the front of the frame and wears on the same tread and flanges as the rollers. Check it while the track rollers are being changed.

Track Roller Questions, Answered

What does a track roller do?
Track rollers, also called bottom rollers, sit along the underside of the track frame and carry the weight of the machine, transferring it through the track to the ground. DuraTrack track rollers are engineered to transfer machine weight through the undercarriage and tracks to the ground, minimizing operational forces.
What is the difference between a track roller and a carrier roller?
Track rollers sit along the underside of the frame and carry the machine's weight. Carrier rollers, also called top rollers, sit on top of the frame and support the track on its return run. Both wear on the tread and flanges, and both are listed by machine model.
Single flange or double flange?
DuraTrack track rollers come as single flange and double flange rollers. A double flange roller gives more guidance to the track link, and dozers normally run a mixture of the two. The machine model and serial number tell us which your undercarriage takes.
Should I change all the track rollers at once?
Yes. It is best practice to change all the bottom rollers together. A single new roller sits proud of the worn ones and increases the wear rate on everything around it.
How do I know a track roller is worn?
Wear shows on the tread and flanges, where the track links run, and it is measured against the dimensions of a new roller. Measure the bottom rollers alongside the top rollers, chain, idlers and sprockets, and our team will tell you what to measure.
What makes track rollers wear faster?
Wide track shoes, material packing between the rollers and the links, incorrect track tension, and fitting a single new roller among worn ones. Use the narrowest shoe that gives good flotation, keep the undercarriage clean, keep the track correctly adjusted and change the rollers as a set.
Which machines do you supply track rollers for?
Track rollers for more than 100 machine makes, including Hitachi, CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, Hyundai, JCB, Kobelco, Kubota, Case and Daewoo, across excavators, dozers, tracked carriers, crushers and screeners, and milling machines and pavers. Select a make above to see every track roller we list for it by model, or send us the model and serial number if yours is not shown.
Do you supply the roller bolts?
Yes. A full hardware offering is available to support the replacement of all undercarriage components. Sprocket and roller bolts are manufactured to Grade 10.9, forged from alloy steel and heat-treated to OEM standards.
What information do you need to quote a track roller?
The machine make, model and serial number, the OEM part number or the markings on the side of the old roller if you have them, the number of track rollers on each side and the track shoe width. We confirm the match against our product reference guide before quoting.
How fast can you ship track rollers in the US?
Order stocked track rollers by 4:00pm CT and they ship the same day from US stock. If the roller for your machine is not in stock we confirm the lead time when we quote, before you commit.
What warranty comes with a DuraTrack track roller?
All DuraTrack components come with a minimum 12-month warranty as standard. We confirm the term that applies to your rollers when we quote them.
